Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) - Project Officer

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a Project Officer to support the ACReSAL Project, led by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). You will work closely with the Project Principal Investigator (PI) to implement project activities in Kano, Nigeria. Your role will involve coordinating field activities, supporting stakeholder engagement, and monitoring project progress.

What you'll do

• Support project planning and implementation with the Project PI.
• Coordinate day-to-day project activities across assigned locations.
• Provide technical support for climate-smart agriculture and other project interventions.
• Conduct field assessments and community engagement activities.
• Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and capacity-building activities.
• Monitor project implementation progress and document lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in agricultural development or a related field.
• Experience in coordinating multi-location projects and working with farmers.
• Knowledge of agricultural systems and rural development in Northern Nigeria.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Experience in project monitoring, data collection, and report writing.
