DRC People Operations & Duty of Care Associate (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is a non-profit organisation that supports smallholder farmers in Africa. The DRC People Operations & Duty of Care Associate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and duty of care systems in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This role will ensure compliance with staff safety and security protocols across offices, transport, and field operations.

What you'll do

• Maintain risk profiles, movement protocols, and safety logs.
• Manage incident reporting, documentation, and corrective actions.
• Administer staff well-being, safety, and security budgets.
• Implement and communicate Health, Safety, and Security SOPs.
• Monitor local security developments and provide intelligence updates.
• Coordinate staff training and onboarding.
• Serve as the first point of contact for staff reporting incidents.
• Oversee office management and facility administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration).
• 3-5 years of experience in HR, operations, or duty of care.
• Proven track record of implementing organisational SOPs and policies.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and French.
