About the role
Vinmar International is seeking a Marine Freight Coordinator to oversee export shipments from Nigeria Free Trade Zone operations. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth international ocean freight shipments. The coordinator will work closely with the Director of Global Marine Freight and be part of the global freight team.
What you'll do
- Coordinate export shipments from booking to vessel departure.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate when necessary.
- Support commercial activities and collect shipping rates.
- Monitor carrier performance and market conditions.
- Analyze trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in international container maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of export maritime shipment execution.
- Fluent English, written and verbal.
- Local network with shipping lines and logistics providers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of carrier contracts and export compliance.
