Tupande Crop Sourcing Officer (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund, operating as Tupande in Kenya, is seeking a Crop Sourcing Officer to manage a large-scale macadamia value-chain, boosting smallholder farmer incomes. You'll work autonomously in the field, supporting farmers and improving their productivity. This role is part of Tupande's efforts to equip smallholder farmers with the resources they need to succeed.

What you'll do

• Develop knowledge of standard market requirements for macadamia
• Train farmers on pest and disease management
• Maintain accurate records of production
• Conduct farm risk assessments and crop scouting
• Prepare farmers for certification processes
• Ensure smooth certification training, inspection, and audit

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in agricultural extension or buying
• Knowledge of macadamia value chain (e.g., crop varieties, quality controls)
• Experience in planning field activities and troubleshooting
• Ability to coordinate teams for harvesting and sourcing
• Passion for serving smallholder farmers
• High school certificate, certificate, or diploma in agriculture
