About the role
CIMMYT, a global research center, seeks a Communications Specialist to boost visibility of its research programs and projects in Africa through strategic communications and media engagement. You will develop high-quality communication materials, support events, and highlight CIMMYT's scientific achievements. This role involves close collaboration with Program Directors, the Africa Communications Manager, and stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Develop communication materials for multiple platforms.
- Create social media content and digital campaigns.
- Support regional events and campaigns.
- Build relationships with media outlets and influencers.
- Prepare executive communications and press materials.
- Manage workflows, events, and partner communications.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in strategic communications.
- Excellent English skills; French and/or Arabic an advantage.
- Experience with international organizations and agricultural development.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
