About the role
WeconnectU, a South African FinTech company, is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Officer to join their Legal, Risk & Compliance team in Somerset West, Western Cape. The successful candidate will provide sound legal advice, draft and manage commercial agreements, and ensure regulatory alignment. This role requires a commercially minded and exceptionally detail-oriented legal professional.
What you'll do
- Provide practical legal advice on contractual and commercial matters.
- Identify and advise on potential legal risks in business operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable legislation.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
- Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
- 5+ years of post-admission experience in a legal role.
- Experience in commercial law and contract drafting.
- Strong knowledge of South African commercial law and regulatory requirements.
